Original content: what counts as yours
The short version
You can only monetize content you made, helped make, or that features you. Anything borrowed needs a meaningful enhancement.

What it means for you
Original means you filmed it, produced it, or you appear in it. Clips posted by the show's own producers, talent or network also count.
Using someone else's material is allowed only when you add real educational, critical or entertainment value. Meta describes three ways to do that:
1. Remixes and overlays where you are the focus on screen and you add new information, commentary or story. 2. Mixing third-party clips into footage you filmed, where the clips support your own story, critique or opinion. 3. Photo memes where your text adds at least two new pieces of information or changes how the image is read.
✓ Do
- Make your face, voice or point of view the main event.
- Use borrowed clips as evidence for your own argument.
- Credit and link original creators.
✕ Don't
- Repost a viral clip with a caption.
- Narrate what viewers can already see.
