What it means for you

It launched in beta on October 2, 2024 and replaced In-stream Ads, Ads on Reels and the Performance Bonus. Those older programs stopped paying on August 31, 2025. In-stream ads on Live ended June 15, 2026, and eligible Live creators now earn through this program.

Joining: invitations arrive only through the Facebook app, email, Meta Business Suite or your dashboard. If you aren't invited, you can fill in the interest form under Professional dashboard, then Monetization, then Content Monetization. Meta says the form is not an application and doesn't guarantee an invite. Open enrollment has been promised but not dated.

Pay is based on qualified views, watch time and engagement, and also on where the content is viewed. In 2025 Facebook paid creators nearly $3 billion, and 60% of it went to Reels.

✓ Do

  • Watch for invites only in official Meta channels.
  • Fill in the interest form if you haven't been invited.
  • Crosspost your own Instagram reels. Those count.

✕ Don't

  • Click 'invitation' links sent over Messenger. Meta warns these are scams.
  • Boost posts you want paid for. Boosted content doesn't earn.
Heads upMeta publishes no follower or view minimum for this program. Numbers quoted on third-party sites are not official.
