A million views, pocket change

Nate finally got into Facebook Content Monetization. His 8-second skits got a million views. His payout barely covered lunch.

How it works
1

What happened

Most of his skits ran under 10 seconds. He also boosted his best ones with ads to push them further.

His dashboard showed most views as non-qualified.

2

The rule behind it

Reels under 10 seconds don't qualify, views under 5 seconds of watch time don't count, and boosted content doesn't earn.

3

Getting paid by following the rules

  • Build skits to 10 seconds or longer with a setup, a turn and a payoff.
  • Stop boosting the posts he wants to be paid for.
  • Check the Non-Qualified Views reasons every week.
The lesson

Views are vanity. Qualified views are the paycheck.
